New Year's Day

*Note: My journals serve a similar purpose as the song Dayeinu serves to the people of Jacob (Israel).  Dayeinu is a traditional, upbeat Hebrew song and prayer sung during the Passover Seder (a traditional, highly symbolic Jewish ritual feast that marks the beginning of the holiday of Passover). The word translates approximately to "it would have been enough" or "it would have sufficed".  The song, which is over a thousand years old, lists the many miracles and blessings God bestowed upon the Jewish people during the Exodus from Egypt. After each blessing—such as freeing them from slavery, parting the Red Sea, or giving them the Torah—the chorus is sung to express boundless gratitude. It serves as a reminder of thankfulness, emphasizing that even a single one of God's blessings would have been sufficient.  Beyond the holiday, the concept has evolved into a broader philosophy of gratitude and contentment. It is often used as a mindfulness tool to appreciate the present, reminding people to find joy in what they currently have rather than constantly desiring more.   

We went to bed this morning at about 2:00 am and got up at about 7:30 am.  Ryan and his family helped clean the house.  Debbie fixed the vacuum cleaner and mopped the floors.  Debbie washed and dried the bed linen and Towels.  I helped her make the beds.  We ate brunch at about 1:30 pm.  Ryan, Stephanie, and the boys went over to Pat and Anndalyn to play with their children in the pool and hot tub.  Debbie and I watched football and TV movies.  I worked on my 2025 journal from HTML into Word format for printing in a hardcover.  Ryan, Stephanie, Abbey, Carter, Mckay, and Drew came home.  Everyone went downstairs except Abbey.  I asked her about family prayer, and she said the boys are watching a movie and she is going to bed.  Ryan and Stephanie are also downstairs.  I helped Debbie get things ready for breakfast tomorrow morning.  Later, we had prayer together before going to bed at 12:30 am.
