Big Shoes to Fill—the idiom used when someone feels pressure to perform as well as their predecessor. Example Joshua following Moses, who had led the people of Israel out of Egypt with all the plagues that accompanied their departure, along with the destruction of the Egyptian army in the Red Sea.  John Adams followed George Washington as President of the United States of America.  George Washington, who led a small ragtag army of colonists in defeating the mightiest army in the world.  Some have filled the shoes of their predecessors, and others who have not.  I have never been concerned about filling someone else's shoes; the only concern I have ever had is about filling my own shoes.  I think I have written about this in my journal before.  When the veil is parted, and I can see and know how I performed in my first estate, pre-existence, I do not want to be disappointed in how I have performed in this life, my second estate.

Up before 7 am; got 7 1/2 hours sleep, had prayer, when Debbie got up we had prayer together.  We sent an email to Elder Ethan, Elder Baylen, Sister Tylee, Elder Camden, and Lula Allred who came by the house Wednesday and asked for help in her bid for Miss Teen Lehi.  Debbie went to see if she could find some more garments Rae Lynn is wanting.  I worked some on proof reading and editing my 1989 journal.  Debbie got back about noon from shopping for her trip to Greece and she was able to get the rest of the garments Rae Lynn wanted.  They have been sold out in American Fork/Lehi and Saratoga Springs.  They got a shipment in today at Saratoga Springs.  Debbie said the waiting line was outside the doors, and she had to wait over an hour before she could pay.  Studied scriptures and exercised some.  Jared sent Debbie plans for making a bedroom and putting a bathroom upstairs.  They went and brought some building material back from Lowe's.  Note:  We had a light dinner and watched a true story about a misfit crooked-footed racehorse that qualified for the Kentucky Derby.  Mine That Bird faced a series of mishaps on the way to Churchill Downs, becoming the ultimate underdogs in a final showdown with the world's racing elite.  50-1 odds, an upset that tied him with Giacomo in 2005 for the second biggest in the race.  You need to go back to Donerail for the biggest upset winner of the Kentucky Derby in 1913. His win stands as the biggest longshot victory in the history of the Kentucky Derby. Going off at 91–1, Donerail provided a $184.90 payoff for a $2 bet.  Worked on journal, studied, and Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed.
