Samantha Gourley Traveller's 24th Birthday

4:00 pm - Beth, Paul, and Michael dinner at our home in Lehi

Debbie got a phone call about 7 am. I slept in until about 8:00 am, had prayer, showered, and shaved. Debbie made a French toast with blue berries casserole. Beth and Paul slept in different rooms and are still sleeping. I sent Samantha a happy birthday wish on a thread with others wishing her a happy birthday. I helped Paul with an iron and an ironing board to iron his shirt for Church services today. We had a few minutes to talk about him and Beth and my concerns for her and Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew's welfare. JC has not been honest or honorable in his dealings with them. Debbie and I had prayer. Beth joined us while Paul was showering and getting ready for church. We had a nice brunch Debbie made. We attended Sacrament meeting. Note: A young wife and her husband spoke. The sister told about an experience with the Holy Spirit. She said as she was checking out at the Deseret Industries counter, the Spirit told her to pay for the bicycle in the lady's cart behind her. She thought that was weird and ignored the promptings. It came again, only stronger the second time. She turned and told the lady, if it would not offend her, she would like to pay for the bicycle in her cart. As she was leaving the store, the lady caught her and asked why she had paid for the bicycle. Usually we only know things from our experiences; it is very rare we get to see and know about things from another's experiences. The lady told her, the bicycle is for my son for him to get to and from his job. We did not have the money to buy a bike, but we prayed. My son cut out a picture of a bicycle and pasted it on our refrigerator. We came to the store today knowing we did not have the money to pay for the bike but put it in our cart anyway, trusting the Lord would provide a way, but had no idea how. This time, the young sister got to see in this experience how the Lord used her to answer this sister and her family's prayer.

I saw Blake and Gavin on the Ring camera arriving at the house. Beth and Paul Webb went over to the house before sacrament meeting ended. Debbie and I went over after Sacrament meeting. Everyone had just left to go and get breakfast. When they learned we were home, they turned around and came back. Debbie heated up the French toast casserole and made a nice breakfast using homemade sourdough bread to make traditional French Toast and bacon. Later, we had a birthday party for Alex. Debbie and I gave her a card telling her every day is her birthday. She was born July 30, 2000, in Provo, Utah. Debbie and Carter made a birthday chocolate cookie and an angel food cake with fresh strawberries, chocolate syrup, and ice cream. We had a nice visit; everyone was tired, but Blake, my grandson, wanted to know about Blake Thrash, his great-great-uncle. Michael took those who were leaving to the Salt Lake Airport. Debbie made salmon and roasted vegetables for those who stayed. When Alex left, I gave her a kiss and told her to tell her mother we said "hi". Before going to bed at about 10:30pm, Debbie and I had prayer together.
